Oh this is a good one! I got the idea from the January/February addition of the Rachael Ray magazine. This thing is loaded with a yummy filling. This will be a huge hit with a family! If you would like to make my version of a pizza hero…
Here’s what you need…
1- 12oz package of refrigerated pizza dough
1/2 lb of roasted turkey, deli meat
1/4 lb of pepperoni
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
4-8 slices of swiss cheese (depends on how cheesy you would like it)
Here’s what you do…
Unroll the pizza dough and cut into fours. Form each fourth into a ball. Place under a towel to bring to room temperature, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Once at room temperature, roll out each dough ball to approx. a 7×8 rectangle. Place fillings down the middle of the rectangle leaving a one inch boarder at the smaller ends. With the longer side of the dough facing you, draw up the far side and pull over the filling. Be careful not to pull a hole in it. Pinch to seal that side. Draw the side closest to you up and over and pinch to seal. Seals the ends by pinching them closed. Place seam side down on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and bake for 25 minutes. This makes 4 servings.
Serve with marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.
